Winner of the Starwood Revenue Manager of the year award for generating over 20 million dollars in revenue for a single hotel.

 

Graduating from Nova Southeastern University, Courtney obtained both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Business Administration.


He served as an adjunct Lecturer in the Bachelors program at Florida Metropolitan University (now Everest University), and has instructed International Business, Intro to Business, Human Resources and Career development programs with the Business Academic Department.


He has held several key hotel positions such as Reservations Manager, Night Auditor, Assistant General Manager, General Manager, and with multiple properties as Director of Revenue Management, Area Revenue Manager and Brand Revenue Manager. His experience includes working as a Project Analyst for Cyntergy Corporation with the Cendant “Power Up” project.


He joined Starwood Hotels August 1997 and was a revenue manager during the acquisition of the Sheraton Hotels. Since then, he has held Area Revenue Management positions with a cluster of independent hotels, and worked with several brands in his portfolio, such as Choice Hotels, Best Western, Radisson, Doubletree, Starwood and IHG.


His successes in the past has molded his philosophy that striving to be the best Revenue Manager is great, but not enough; one has to have the ability to pass on the revenue management philosophy and training at each property level to create a revenue management culture. He has also attended many “Train the Trainer” courses, which provided him the necessary skills to pass on his philosophy stated above to the individual properties.


In forming Synergy Revenue Management he has tapped into the Hospitality Industry and hired Revenue Management talent that has similar experiences, philosophies and various brand experience to support the brands he has not worked with directly, such as Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt; Therefore, ensuring that Synergy Revenue Management can give exceptional support to our clients across almost all major brands.
